The background
South West Communications Group provides St Kew Community Primary School with a reliable telephony solution that makes life easier for teachers, staff and parents alike.
St Kew Community Primary School, near Bodmin is set in the Cornish countryside just 4 miles from the sea and serves 73 pupils.
The challenge
St Kew’s existing telephone system had become outdated and inefficient for modern-day use. As with most schools, the reception staff were always inundated with calls in the mornings regarding absenteeism and St Kew’s needed an efficient way of dealing with these better.
The school was also keen to minimise disruption for their staff and students alike, so any work undertaken needed to be carried out during a holiday period.
The solution
South West Communications Group installed a Toshiba CIX40 telephone system throughout the school as part of a single digital solution that included the following:
- Automated attendant for efficient call direction and message taking
- Individual voicemail accounts with message waiting indication and Passcode protection
- Call barring to control call costs
- Tannoy and paging messages for rapid staff location in emergencies
- User training
- On-going support from CRB checked engineers
