The background
South West Communication Group provides Pavey Group with a resilient wide area network (WAN) solution to efficiently connect its 5 offices.
Pavey Group is the West Country’s leading provider of insurance, risk management and financial services with more than 35 years of experience in offering expert advice and solutions. In 1999, Pavey Group consolidated its position within the West Country insurance market through its partnership with Westinsure, a consortium which is now the largest group of independent insurance brokers in the region controlling in excess of £250 million of premium income.
The challenge
Pavey Group operates from 5 sites across the region with its head office and 1 other in Torquay and the remaining offices situated in Exeter, Teignmouth and Totnes. They needed to link all their offices and their 60 members of staff together offering real-time connectivity to shared resources. They also needed a high level of resilience and availability at a realistic cost.
The network had to be scalable to meet their future demands as well as being easy to administer and manage allowing them to focus on their business needs rather than the technology required to support it.
Furthermore, Pavey Group wanted to unify this communications network through a single supplier.
The solution
South West Communications Group provided the Pavey Group with a cohesive WAN solution that incorporated several different technologies with their Exeter-based data centre forming part of the connectivity solution which comprised the following:
- A fully managed leased line network solution
- Use of South West Communications Group’s Exeter data centre as the network hub
- Resilience, security and scalability
- Automatic failover to broadband
- Ongoing Platinum support 24/7
