The background
South West Communications Group’s Lines & Minutes service provides Bond Air Services the peace of mind that they remain constantly available to their customers and are able to respond to potentially life-threatening situations immediately.
Bond Air Services was formed in 1961 and provides specialist response services utilising its fleet of helicopters to a range of clients including the emergency services (the air ambulance service in particular), the oil industry and the world of luxury corporate hospitality. Bond Air is the largest operator of the Eurocopter EC135 T2 and the Bolkow BO105 helicopter within the UK.
Bond Air operates on 24/7 basis from 15 sites across the country with permanent pilots and engineers resident at each. These sites are supported by two maintenance facilities at Staverton, near Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, and Glasgow.
The challenge
South West Communications Group’s original relationship developed from the installation of a telephone system at in Staverton back in 2001.
It was crucial that Bond Air was contactable 24/7 to deal with any potentially life-threatening situations where time is absolutely critical. Bond Air’s existing supplier could not guarantee its lines would always be operational or that there were cast-iron measures in place in the event of line failure. As a result, Bond Air turned to South West Communications Group for advice.
The solution
South West Communications Group provided Bond Air with its Lines & Minutes service that included the following:
- Provision of 187 lines consolidated in a single bill
- Competitive call tariffs
- Web-based billing platform updated daily
- Fraud reporting
- Automatic e-alerts when call parameters exceed predetermined thresholds
- Disaster recovery routing options
- 24/7 support desk
- Ongoing account management
