South West Communications Group announced as finalists in industry sales awards

South West Communications Group has been named among the finalists for two categories of the Comms Dealer Sales Awards 2014.

The Exeter-based telephony, Internet connectivity and data centre company has been shortlisted for the Reseller Sales Team of the Year, for businesses with more than a £7.5 million turnover, and in the Reseller Marketing Campaign category.

The Sales Team entry was based around South West Communications Group’s rapid rise to ShoreTel’s Circle of Excellence and Gold Partner status in the first year of reselling its unified communications solutions. South West Communications Group is among the top 0.5% of its global resellers having secured orders and deployed solutions from world-renowned businesses, including Farrow & Ball and TOMY.

The Marketing Campaign entry centred on the company’s willingness to embrace the use of regular blogs, infographics, video, social media, email marketing, webinars and seminars to offer a full spectrum of opportunities to contact customers and prospects in the way that appeals to them the most, reaping increased website traffic and incoming leads in the process.

Sarah Flowers, sales director of South West Communications Group, said: “We have had a busy last 12 months with the economy now looking like it is on its way to recovery. Our sales and marketing teams have worked hard to secure increased business and exposure in what is a very competitive field. I am delighted their efforts have been recognised at industry level.”

The winners of the Comms Dealer Sales Awards 2014 will be announced on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in London.

Former newspaper journalist, Caroline joined the company in 2008 with no previous knowledge of the industry.

She set about stripping back all the jargon to produce plain English marketing collateral to support the sales teams. Now slightly more well-versed in the dark arts of voice, connectivity and data services, Caroline writes blogs, case studies, data sheets and social media updates to engage with potential and existing customers.

This industry is far cry from her previous working life when she worked as communications manager for Exeter Chiefs and Northampton Saints.
