This latest award is in addition to the Excellence in Education Award the Exeter-based communications company scooped last year.

South West Communications Group’s managing director Harry Langley said: “We have nearly three decades of experience of working with the health sector from large-scale hospitals to smaller medical practices. We understand their needs and therefore design solutions to meet these, very often to relieve the pressure put on reception staff, with efficient call routing and queuing systems complemented by modern voicemail and unified messaging features.

“We are delighted that Toshiba has recognised our ‘excellence’ in this field as serving the health sector is an important part of our client base that we hope to continue to support for many years to come.”

South West Communications Group has implemented its business telephone systems for more than 4,000 businesses in the south of England, south Wales, through the M4 corridor and London. Once the equipment has been installed, South West Communications Group’s highly skilled team of engineers takes responsibility for its upkeep; including moves, additions and changes as well as delivering software upgrades and providing ongoing support.

Former newspaper journalist, Caroline joined the company in 2008 with no previous knowledge of the industry.

She set about stripping back all the jargon to produce plain English marketing collateral to support the sales teams. Now slightly more well-versed in the dark arts of voice, connectivity and data services, Caroline writes blogs, case studies, data sheets and social media updates to engage with potential and existing customers.

This industry is far cry from her previous working life when she worked as communications manager for Exeter Chiefs and Northampton Saints.
