South West Communications Group has been asked to provide a new telephone system for The Cabbage Patch in Twickenham.

Recently purchased by brewer and pub operator Fuller, Smith & Turner, The Cabbage Patch is an institution among rugby fans visiting Twickenham Stadium. It has two bars, a saloon bar, a sports bar and a nightclub.

Fuller, Smith & Turner has been a customer of the Exeter-based telephone systems provider South West Communications Group for the last five years who has installed new telephone systems into Fuller, Smith & Turner’s brewery in Chiswick and into 25 of its pubs.

South West Communications Group will shortly be installing an Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Office telephone system at The Cabbage Patch to modernise its communications infrastructure.

Gail Winter, communications administrator, of Fuller, Smith & Turner, said: “South West Communications Group has become one of our trusted suppliers in recent years. They understand our business and our specific requirements and therefore ensure the installation of a new telephone system is a seamless part of all our refurbishment projects.”

South West Communications Group’s managing director Harry Langley said: “As a company that has its own involvement in rugby through the main and first team sponsorship of Exeter Chiefs, we are delighted to be involved with this project at The Cabbage Patch.”

Former newspaper journalist, Caroline joined the company in 2008 with no previous knowledge of the industry.

She set about stripping back all the jargon to produce plain English marketing collateral to support the sales teams. Now slightly more well-versed in the dark arts of voice, connectivity and data services, Caroline writes blogs, case studies, data sheets and social media updates to engage with potential and existing customers.

This industry is far cry from her previous working life when she worked as communications manager for Exeter Chiefs and Northampton Saints.
