South West Communications Group has won an international award to recognise its work in supporting small and medium-sized businesses. Alcatel-Lucent has decalred South West Communications Group as its 2010 EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Asia) Partner of the Year Outstanding Achievement award winner.

South West Communications Group has won an international award to recognise its work in supporting small and medium-sized businesses. One of the industry’s leading communications equipment manufacturers, Alcatel-Lucent, announced South West Communications Group had won its 2010 EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Asia) Partner of the Year Outstanding Achievement Award in Barcelona during the first leg of the Alcatel-Lucent Dynamic Enterprise Tour 2011.

The award was in recognition of South West Communications Group’s use of growth initiatives, innovation and collaboration opportunities with particular attention placed on the converged, turn-key telephony solution it has implemented for Dorothy House Hospice Care.

The solution deployed for Dorothy House Hospice Care in Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire, included a new telephone system which has been integrated with new access control and nurse call solutions to enable all three elements to be controlled with the use of cordless phones. South West Communication Group has also replaced the Hospice’s existing data network to meet its changing communication needs.

The Exeter-based communications company hopes this blend of technologies will form a blueprint for hospices and care homes to help them deliver excellent patient care now and in the future.

Keith Wilkinson, sales director for Alcatel-Lucent said: “South West Communications Group went above and beyond to motivate the market to adopt new ideas and new technologies by facilitating joint technology offerings with Alcatel-Lucent to bring integrated solutions to the marketplace.”

Sarah Flowers, sales director of South West Communications Group, said: “To be recognised by Alcatel-Lucent as being the 2010 EMEA Partner of the Year is a huge testament to the result of our investment in solutions for the SMB market. We are dedicated to designing solutions that suit the needs of our clients, and this award, as well as our recent implementation at Dorothy House Hospice Care, illustrates our pursuit of excellence in the communication and data networking industry.

“By aligning our strategies with Alcatel-Lucent, we have been able to deliver advanced solutions and integrate them seamlessly into existing infrastructure, thereby driving business efficiency and growth for our customers.”

She set about stripping back all the jargon to produce plain English marketing collateral to support the sales teams. Now slightly more well-versed in the dark arts of voice, connectivity and data services, Caroline writes blogs, case studies, data sheets and social media updates to engage with potential and existing customers.

This industry is far cry from her previous working life when she worked as communications manager for Exeter Chiefs and Northampton Saints.
