At the end of 2016, Toshiba informed their distributors and customers they were removing themselves from the UK telecoms market and would no longer supply licences or hardware for their phone systems. This left customers with Toshiba systems at a loss as to what to do next.
On July 5, 2017, Mitel, a global leader of enterprise communications, announced that it has completed the acquisition of certain assets, inventory and support obligations from Toshiba Corporation's Unified Communications business. Toshiba clarified that this agreement does not apply to the European market, where Toshiba continue to work with its long and trusted partner, swcomms.
Toshiba will continually assess the situation in Europe, and ensure that our customers experience and service levels are maintained at the highest standard. swcomms is the sole outsource partner for all Toshiba Unified Communications & Solutions (UCS) products to support resellers and end users across the UK.
