South West Communications Group was started up in Exeter, Devon, in 1983, by the company’s chief executive officer and chairman Tony Rowe OBE, as a provider of business telephone systems. South West Communications Group was started up in Exeter, Devon, in 1983, by the company’s chief executive officer and chairman Tony Rowe OBE, as a provider of business telephone systems. Since then, we have grown, both in size and technological expertise, to meet an ever-changing demand for more efficient, secure, scalable, cost-effective, and reliable communication solutions. We now provide the latest in voice, connectivity, cloud, security and data centre solutions.


More than 140 people are employed by swcomms to deliver and maintain our range of services to a wide variety of businesses across the UK. Our head office is still in Exeter, Devon, along with our purpose-built data centre, with a South East office in Portsmouth, Hampshire, providing an accessible location to service customers in London, the South East, the West Midlands, South Wales and, of course, the South West where we have a strong customer base in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset and Bristol.

We pride ourselves on our customer-focussed approach that has not only seen our turnover increase year on year but has also led to a high level of repeat business and customer recommendations from companies impressed by our ability to provide high quality solutions, delivered on time and within budget while always remaining at the forefront of technological innovation.


We not only provide the consultancy and design to deliver tailor-made solutions to our clients, managing the installation, testing and user training with meticulous care and providing ongoing technical support and maintenance through our service desk and network of field-based engineers.


We can also offer a range of competitive lease purchase and lease rental options through our in-house finance company, SWT Finance, providing businesses with the ability to use the most up-to-date technology without having to release valuable capital for purchasing it.


We have recently been recognised by the Comms Business Awards where we won the Apprenticeship Scheme category and were runners-up in the Enterprise ICT and Reseller awards. At the Express & Echo DevonLive Business Awards 2018, we won the Employer of the Year and Apprentice Employer of the Year awards and were also highly commended for our customer service.

 

Our sales team were winners at the CRN Sales & Marketing Awards and Comms Dealer Sales & Marketing Awards in 2017. We were named the Best SME Vertical Market Solution winners at the Comms National Awards 2014 and in 2010, we were awarded four prestigious industry awards that recognised our ability to provide multi-faceted solutions, using our long-standing relationships with our partners to meet and exceed the needs of our customers.
