To complete my video series, I wanted to compare the top end of the Microsoft and Apple devices - the Surface Studio versus the iMac. These powerhouse devices deliver amazing graphic quality and design capability, as well as superior processing power to bring designs to life. While the iMac has been a dominant force within the design and architecture market, the Surface Studio can provide full collaboration tools to the design desktop.
The key difference between both devices are based on quality of the screen display with the iMac providing 5K resolution while the Studio reaches 4K. However, the Surface Studio has a few more additions that give it an advantage.
The Studio can be set to suit a desktop or draughtsman mode for designers and artists to utilise the Pen and Dial tools. Applications such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Autodesk work seamlessly with the device while Office 365 and Windows ensure IT teams don’t have unique configurations when connecting the device to the network.
While the iMac maybe a popular with designers, the Surface Studio is becoming a viable alternative for designers and preferred by IT teams to ensure the device meets all the necessary security restrictions.
