Where should I locate my disaster recovery solution?

With so many businesses holding large amounts of data, having a disaster recovery (DR) option is essential, especially in light of GDPR regulations on data protection.

In recent years, large and small businesses have suffered a disaster; a one in a million-type incident which can range from a power, software or hardware failure, human error or flood, fire and winter weather conditions. Any of these issues could take an entire business offline, which could have a major impact on customer service and bottom line.

When selecting a DR solution, businesses need to be aware of where their DR solution is located, both in a physical and virtual sense. The distance between your disaster recovery site and your live site will make a difference to how your business will be affected by a natural phenomenon.

You need to be sure your DR option will mean your business will be up and running quickly and efficiently from any location and your customers’ needs are still being met.

My short video provides some answers to those questions. If you would like to know more, please contact me directly on 0800 054 6789 or email cloud@swcomms.co.uk.
