Rowcroft Medical Centre is a three-partner GP surgery in Stroud, Gloucestershire.
Rowcroft Medical Centre had been using an ageing Samsung phone system and traditional ISDN phone lines.
The Samsung needed updating, but even with an upgrade from their current supplier, it would still be an on-premise phone system that would limit their options.
We recommended that they switch from the Samsung solution to a cloud based one, as favoured by most GP surgeries. This would also replace their ISDN lines, which are being phased out by Openreach, and would give them the flexibility they would need in the future. A cloud-hosted solution also evolves with time and they would not need to pay any extra to make system changes.
The solution we proposed and deployed was Gamma’s Horizon cloud IP-hosted telephony solution. This offers the same features and benefits of an on-premise IP phone system with the exception that most of the infrastructure is held within a core network of secure data centres, thus removing the need to host, manage and maintain equipment locally.
The Horizon solution has been an ideal fit for many GP surgeries as it offer the following features and benefits which include:
- Monthly payment rather that a large capital expenditure
- Saving on call costs
- Voice-only infrastructure
- Enhanced business continuity
- Feature-rich functionality
- Call centre working for reception staff
- Automated attendants
- In-house management
- Modern desk and DECT handsets with HD voice services
