We help the education sector embrace digital learning with Wi-Fi or wireless local area networks (wLANs) designed for schools, colleges and universities.

Decent Wi-Fi is critical to the education sector. In fact it was once described as “vital to a 21st Century learning environment”* by the E-Learning Foundation. But there are some schools that are lagging behind the wireless connectivity trend which means their pupils are unable to fully embrace digital learning in all subjects.

Mobile and smart devices are revolutionising the way schools are run and the way pupils learn, with schools either investing in tablets – some on a 1:1 basis – or allowing pupils to use their own devices on their premises. This shift has made Wi-Fi a necessary commodity.

Those schools that have already installed Wi-Fi are using them to give staff and pupils the freedom to move around with devices, including laptops, tablets and smartphones while also linking to whiteboards, DECT handsets, digital signage and so much more.

Secure and reliable wireless connectivity is facilitating better education by giving pupils and staff the ability to work and connect wherever they are on site or campus.

But it’s not as simple as plugging in a few wireless routers, so we design wired and wireless LANs using a consultancy-style approach to establish current and future needs in order to propose the best technically and commercially suitable solution. We work with Cisco Meraki and Alcatel-Lucent to supply these solutions to meet specific coverage, capacity, resilience and security needs.
